My First Show
Wow. This just blew my mind... first time I think I've heard this show since that night! Never forget leaning against the stage, (it was not like at
...
later Dead shows, you could actually just walk up and lean against the stage), during I Know You Rider. "I wish I was a headlight..." I was 14 and that night changed my life. I ended up working with The Dead folks post-Jerry, and my pics were even the ones on the Rex Black Tie Dye Ball CD! From hearing Let Me Sing Your Blues Away first on this night in 1973, to having Donna sing it me in a rehearsal studio in NYC, back in 2006, the week my mom passed... what a long strange trip it certainly has been!

Actually a pretty sloppy show. Eyes, China Doll & China Rider are excellent, but they are the exceptions. Recording needs high end cut.

The 9/7 show featured extraordinary versions of TLEO,Bird Song,Here Comes Sunshine,Me and My Uncle,Stella Blue and an all-time Playin' in the Band. As

for 9/8 the standout's are Tennessee Jed,Brown-Eyed,Eyes,Greatest Story,Truckin',NFA and Let It Grow. Even a rudimentary knowledge of this music shouldn't allow for a comment so uninformed as to compare these two very good shows to some mediocre late 70's crap.

Oh My GOODNESS!! What a WONDERFUL show!! Yessir! I Like it! I never much enjoyed traipsing out to Nassau. Horrendous drive and the scene, well, so
...
much has been written about Nassau County's nefarious Blue Meanies. Leave it at that. As if to compensate, boys and girls, this here roasty, toasty bisquit is pure honey and delight. Just a lovely Fall show from a great year. Band is just really kickin' it and.. KEITH SINGS! Why he didn't sing more is a mystery. Grab it and get it before it's gone kids! They'll fer sure git round to vending this tasty morsel.
